Babywearers tips
from Sonia, mother of Sagi
Buy a good one, just not too good. And not very expensive, it might stop you in tue future from wasting all your money on wraps (why pay more, if yours is good enough and cost like 4 times less, right?) Maybe, just maybe, than you manage to stay with one babywrap only! Because the better wrap, there more you'll want to use it. The more you use it, the bigger your hunger for such grate wraps become. And before you notice, you're already longing for ideal babywrap… Which doesn't exist! And so you have to make compromise – to buy a few. Another warning – don't visit internet communities (especially TBW – if you know what I'm talking about, you're already addicted), where you'll find beside a beautiful pictures of happy wrap babies and contented wrap mothers (who just bought a rare, limited edition wrap), a way to make a huge hole in family bugged. This will prove to your husband, that in spite of his hope, that he married "a normal person", you're just all the women – "completely crazy". The rest of family will also give you a hard time – "Why can't you use a stroller? Everybody else does it, why won't you?" And seriously, why not? Believe me, it's very comfortable to put your grocery bags on it. But I mean it: go to the walk. Get away from any way of communication with other wrapwearers. Including wrapwearers meetings, where you probably find out how to wrap correctly, which make the babywearing even more comfortable. And this will bring you to buy a new wrap, which variety is so generous on those meeting… Long story short: it a vicious circle… of 3.2 to 5.2 meters length. It's better you have only one more or less suitable wrap. Maybe two, so you could wash it on turns. Three, if you need one for summer, one for winter. Well, four, so you could play with your outfit. Or five, if you really want to wear a heavy childe (lets say, older than 2 years age). Six, at most, so you can have one of those "rare"/"limited editions"/"not produced any more". But no 20, for God's sake! Otherwise, you should buy a closet, so you can keep it properly. And special bags for silk, kashmir and wool. |
